virtual conference in the metaverse, with live streamed keynote speakers and presentations
over the years we’ve observed users of VR are most impressed with the feeling of large vistas, heights, expanse - but large spaces tend to perform poorly in realtime 3d. so we proposed a city world with platforms in the sky, which let us limit the objects drawn on screen while maintaining a sense of space and height.
in addition, our roles were:
- technical consulting
- working with the art team to ensure models created were performant for Quest 2
- creating shaders and designing materials optimized for Quest 2 (water, cloud layer effect)
